Mike is a founding shareholder of the firm and serves as its president. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Lincoln University and is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has over 33 years experience in public accounting encompassing virtually all areas of practice including setting up new businesses, preparing financial statements, business and personal taxes, and financial consultation. He has served on the board of some of the firms larger clients and has had experience assisting client's attorneys with preparing cases for court and serving as an expert witness. Mike's experience prior to public accounting includes 7 years as an IRS agent in Denver, Colorado. Mike is currently an Endorsed Local Provider for Dave Ramsey.
Peggy earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Lincoln University in 1996. She joined the firm in September of 1997 as a staff accountant and became a shareholder of the firm in September of 2005. Her experience in public accounting includes compiling financial statements, formation of new businesses, personal and business tax preparation, payroll preparation and consultation in many aspects of our client's businesses. She has assisted our multi-owner professional clients with the design and implementation of formulas to allocate overhead and divide profits based on productivity. Peggy also has had many years of experience working with QuickBooks issues.
Katie brought to the firm seven years of banking experience and currently has ten years experience in public accounting with us. Her responsibilities include monthly client write-up, payroll preparation and corporate, partnership and individual tax return preparation. She is familiar with small business pension plans and is our resident payroll expert. Katie is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals.
Jamie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Lincoln University and graduated with Summa Cum Laude Honors. She is currently earning her Master of Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting at Lincoln University. Her goal is to become a CPA. Jamie has been with our firm since May of 2010 serving first as an intern then in January 2012 becoming a full-time Staff Accountant. Her responsibilities include payroll preparation, data entry, bank reconciliations and individual tax return preparation.
Bev has over twenty-five years experience working in public accounting. Her responsibilities over the years have included paying bills for clients, preparing client data, reconciling bank accounts, preparing payroll and payroll tax returns, tracking pension expenditures, individual and corporate income tax preparation. She has completed courses in accounting and income tax during her career. Her years of "hands-on" experience dealing with clients and accounting matters have given her exceptional insight into issues faced by our clients. She is also familiar with QuickBooks and QuickBooks payroll which she works with on a regular basis.
We are pleased to welcome Carol as the newest member of our professional staff. She has 26 years experience in preparing income tax returns and has passed the Enrolled Agent exam administered by IRS. Her educational background includes a Bachelors degree with honors and a Masters degree in American history. She operated her own tax practice in Virginia and recently relocated here to care for aging parents. She has prior membership in several professional organizations including the National society of Tax Professionals and the Maryland Society of Accountant's and is a current member of the Missouri Society of Accountants. she continues to fulfill the annual continuing education requirements to maintain her IRS credentials.
